Dannielle Finnerty Psychology

Dannielle Finnerty
Registered Psychologist, MPsych, BA (Hons)
Life can start to feel overwhelming when your mind is constantly busy, your emotions feel intense, or you no longer recognise the person you used to be. Many people come to therapy feeling exhausted from trying to hold everything together — managing work, relationships, family, expectations, and the pressure to keep functioning even when things feel heavy inside.
With 14 years of experience as a psychologist, I understand that life is rarely simple. Whether you are navigating stress, burnout, anxiety, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges or major life transitions, therapy can provide a space to slow down, gain clarity and move forward with greater confidence.
I provide one-on-one telehealth therapy (via video or phone sessions), allowing you to access support from the comfort and privacy of your own home. With no long wait times and flexible online sessions, therapy can fit around the realities of busy lives.

Areas of Interest
I have experience and interest in supporting individuals with:
• Neurodivergence, including ADHD and autism
• Anxiety, stress, and persistent overthinking
• Depression, burnout, and emotional exhaustion
• Perimenopause and PMDD
• Loss of identity or feeling disconnected from yourself
• Low self-worth and self-criticism
• Emotion regulation and overwhelm
• Recovery from emotional abuse
• Major life transitions and stressors
My Approach
My approach to therapy is practical, collaborative, and focused on real-life change.
Rather than simply talking about problems, we work together to understand the patterns that keep you feeling stuck and develop realistic strategies you can actually implement in your everyday life.
I draw on a range of evidence-based therapies, including:
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
• Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
• Solution-focused therapy
• Mindfulness-based approaches
• Trauma-informed therapy
These approaches are adapted to the individual, because effective therapy is never one-size-fits-all.

About me
Hello, I’m Dannielle, a registered psychologist with 14yrs experience across the fields of organisational and clinical psychology within the private and academic sectors.
After many years living and working in the city, my family and I moved to a remote town in North Western Australia, where we have embraced a slower pace of life and a strong sense of community.
I live here with my husband and our two children. Living in a remote region has given me a deep appreciation for the challenges many people face when accessing support — including distance, busy schedules, family responsibilities, and the feeling that there simply isn’t time to focus on yourself.
This is why I provide telehealth therapy, making it easier for people across Australia to access consistent psychological support without needing to travel or disrupt their daily lives. I believe therapy should feel practical, supportive, and genuinely helpful in everyday life.
